A journey through West-Iceland (Vesturland) is unlike any other. This is the place where the Sagas were written and the location in which many of them took  place. You can follow in the footsteps of the heroes of the sagas or you can travel with Jules Verne  to the centre of the earth through the magical volcanic glacier Snæfellsjökull.

In 2008, the Snæfellsnes communities became the first in Europe to receive certification from Green Globe, an international benchmarking system for sustainable travel and tourism.

West Iceland consist of fjords, valleys, craters, glaciers and volcanoes. The landscape is beautiful and contains many salmon fishing rivers, especially in Borgarfjörður which lies only an hours drive from Reykjavík.
